Appearance: Like most others underground, Imogen is very short for her age, but she is also significantly paler - she is one of those who doesn't get outside very often at all. She has dark brown hair down to her mid-back, which she usually keeps tied up, and dark brown eyes. She wears a worn pair of jeans and a baggy old t-shirt, clothing that one of her brothers stole from the surface for her.
History: Imogen was born a triplet, and the only female child in her family. Apart from the brothers that were born with her - named Kurtis and Rubin - she had two older brothers - Chas and Markus. None of the children knew who their father was, but it didn't matter because they had a mother who cared about them and managed to look after them reasonably well.
When she was five, Imogen gained yet another brother - Darin - but unfortunately their mother fell ill shortly afterwards. A while later she disappeared completely, although Imogen's oldest brother Markus assured his siblings that she'd just been taken to the hospital upstairs.
For three years, the oldest two brothers tried to take care of the family themselves, but discovered it wasn't as easy as they thought. A virus that was spreading throughout the underground infected the kids, and unfortunately took Rubin's life. After this, the older boys sent the others to live in the orphanage, hoping that they would have a safer life there and be taken care of.
In her time at the orphanage, Imogen learned how to take care of the kids and now wants to work there herself when she's old enough.
Personality: At a first glance, Imogen appears to be quiet, and keeps to herself. She doesn't like speaking in front of large groups of people and tries to avoid conflict as much as possible. Once she knows someone, however, her personality around them will change. She becomes a lot louder, and enjoys messing around and teasing them.
She spends a lot of time thinking, and has her head constantly in another world. Because of this she often forgets where she's going or what she's doing.
As much as Imogen wants to see what things are like outside, she hasn't yet left the underground - she's heard stories of people being arrested or simply just receiving abuse in the street, and the last thing she wants is to get arrested. It would mean she wouldn't be around to help with the kids, and added to that it just sounds too scary.
She spends a lot of time with her twin brother Kurtis (although it isn't uncommon to find her on her own) and regularly tries to convince him not to go to the surface - she's terrified of losing him as well.
Overall, Imogen is friendly but introverted and a little too scared of the world around her.
Roleplay Sample:
Sighing heavily, Imogen crossed her legs and started tracing patterns into the dirt in front of her. Kurtis had promised he'd be back within the hour, but she was sure he'd been gone longer than that now...
Getting to her feet, she moved a few strands of hair from in front of her face and looked in the direction he'd left. She knew the 'escape' was over there, but she'd never been there herself.
Taking a few steps forward, she wondered if she should go and look for him. The kids were all asleep, and it was said that there weren't any police by the escape... she could just go out for a few seconds and look around...
She took another step forward but then hesitated, and then shook her head. Sitting down again, she felt tears well up in her eyes. Once again, she couldn't do it. Why did this happen every time?
Upon hearing footsteps, she straightened up, hopeful.
"Kurtis?" she called out, "Is that you?"
