Appearance: Lychee is very short and thin for her age due to the conditions underground, although a lot of the children living with her are around the same size. She is also very pale, as she doesn't get very much sunlight.
She has long brown hair, which is always very dirty and has a few irremovable knots in it. She ties her hair back into pigtails with a couple of pieces of string which she found, but they tend to be very uneven. Her eyes are a light bluish-green.
The clothing Lychee owns is a faded grey dress, which has been badly patched up in a few places. She has a stuffed bear that she usually carries around with her that is usually quite clean - it appears she tries to take better care of the toy than she can of herself.
History: Being only nine years old, Lychee doesn't have a whole lot of history. She was orphaned at the age of four - he mother died shortly after childbirth and a few weeks after Lychee's fourth birthday her father died of a virus - and so lives in the 'orphanage' with many of the underground's other children.
At the age of seven, Lychee made her first trip above ground, accompanied by one of the older boys that helped out at the orphanage. It was on this trip that she discovered the playground, but she was confused as to why the other adults didn't let their children play with her. She didn't realize that being from another class made her different from them.
Unfortunately at this point they were spotted by a patrolling police officer, and although the boy tried to help Lychee run both of them were caught and had to spend a night in jail. Since then Lychee has been terrified of the police, but will still try and befriend someone of a higher class if the opportunity presents itself. it was also after this event that she began stealing - there was so much food up here and so little downstairs, and she didn't see it as stealing but sharing.
Personality: Lychee is a very lively little girl, and she tends to spend most of her time being very happy. She tries to always see the bright side of things and has big dreams for her future - she longs to be an astronaut, and still insists that she will despite many adults telling her it's impossible. Her life in the underground has meant that she has had to toughen up considerably, but she is still very naive about the world - she believes that anyone can get what they want if they try hard enough and that everyone has some good in them, no matter how small it is.
Roleplay Sample:
Looking around herself quickly, Lychee stumbled up the steps towards the 'escape'. There still weren't any police around, but if anyone caught her she knew she'd be in trouble...
Once she was nearly out, the little girl sat on the top step and took a chance looking up. It was getting dark, and the stars were beginning to come out. She let out a little gasp - she hadn't looked up in ages, she'd forgotten how beautiful the sky was at night...
Seeing a couple of stars blinking at her, the child smiled. Someone had once told her that when people died they became stars and watched over their loved ones. Those two stars must be her mama and papa... Lychee waved back eagerly, hoping they didn't mind that they couldn't see her much.
"I'm okay," she whispered to them, just in case they were wondering, "I hope it's nice up there in the sky. It looks nice, anyway." She froze suddenly, looking around. She could hear footsteps - they didn't sound too far away.
Waving once more to her parents, she whispered "I love you..." before disappearing back underground again.
